Enjoy an adventure with us – throughout October we invite you to a specially created theatre performance at the IKEA store in Riga!
Animal explorer Oliver has just returned from an exciting journey across the African savannah, where he met helpful meerkats, far-sighted giraffes and lightning-fast cheetahs, travelled through many lands and got caught up in all sorts of unusual scrapes. Now he invites you to join the adventure – to listen, to watch and to imagine the animal world up close.
The creators and performers, Rihards Zelezņevs and Signija Joce, bring these stories to life with playful ease, captivating children and revealing the magic of theatre.
The show is especially suitable for children aged 2–9, though everyone is warmly welcome. For our youngest visitors, we kindly ask that they are accompanied during the performance.
Premiere – 7 October!
Where? The Swedish Restaurant, 2nd floor of the IKEA store in Riga
When?
While other animals fight for food on the ground, the giraffes’ long necks allow them to graze uninterruptedly among the leaves. They also show affection by pressing their necks against each other. In the SANDLÖPARE collection, you can find giraffes as stickers, soft toys, on posters, storage bags, bed linen and more. Can you find all the giraffes we’ve hidden in this children’s room? And yes – tails count too!
In the wild, animals’ distinct patterns help them avoid being detected by predators — or, in the case of hunters, by their prey. At home, blending in can be just as fun. Especially when your child wraps up in the SANDLÖPARE hooded towel with a cheetah pattern — perfect for staying hidden in plain sight after a nice, clean bath.
Meerkats never seem to be still and they are always on the lookout for danger. The dark patches around their eyes act as natural sunglasses and if a predator approaches, they sound an alarm to warn the others to hide in burrows underground. Capture the charm and energy of these fascinating animals by bringing home your very own SANDLÖPARE soft toy meerkat.
Chimpanzees easily swing from branch to branch. With opposable thumbs as well as toes, it’s almost as if they have four hands. The SANDLÖPARE soft toy chimpanzee has touch-and-close fastening on both hands and feet and can easily join your family’s adventures. Let it hang around your neck or on a bag.
To zebras, black and white stripes on a beige background is considered camouflage. Lions are colourblind, which means that the colour is less important than the pattern that blends well into the savannah grass. And when the zebras stand together in a herd, it’s difficult for the lions to single one of them out to attack. Create your own herd of zebras. With soft padding in recycled polyester, the SANDLÖPARE zebra patterned stool covers are a great complement to the FLISAT and MAMMUT stools.
Explore the stories of the savannah at home! Learn more about the animals in the educational and tricky SANDLÖPARE activity book with 25 pages of creative puzzles for curious minds. Or roll out the 10-meter-long SANDLÖPARE colouring roll and invite the whole family to interpret the animals of the savannah.
