IKEA invites the Latvia’s inhabitants to apply for the free of charge balcony make over. 3 balconies or terraces will be selected and then fully equipped with IKEA furniture and accessories. The goal of the make over is to inspire the Latvian people to create for themselves the everyday vacation moment at home. One can apply for the balcony make over here.
“Summer and vacation season is coming and it’s time to think about ways how to enjoy the warm season. Why not to choose your own terrace or balcony to be the hottest summer destination?
During the make over we will show how to turn the balconies, which often remain as a storage place for unneeded items, to the inspiring and relaxing space, which will give you a feeling of holidays everyday”, - says Baiba Freija, the Manager of IKEA interior design department.

To show the inspiring examples how to arrange and design your balcony, IKEA designers will redesign 3 balconies of Latvian homes. Everyone who has a balcony or terrace, which needs total make over or improvements, is invited to apply by sending a picture of his balcony and short letter why this very balcony should be redesigned by IKEA.
Applications can be submitted from May 14 to May 26, 2019 .The jury of IKEA designers will choose three winners who will get new balcony set-up*, which will include furniture, lighting and accessories. The make over will be implemented in June.
