Typical “crises” of two-year-olds, three-year-olds and other age groups
The session is led by Dr Sabīne Bērziņa, a Doctor of Psychology and expert at the Latvian Parents’ Organisation.
During a child’s developmental stages, strong emotions, resistance and tantrums often emerge, and this behaviour can be difficult for parents to understand. These so-called “crises” are in fact a natural part of a child’s development.
In the session, you will learn:
- what behavioural changes are typical at different stages of a child’s development;
- what the “crises” of two- and three-year-olds really mean;
- how parents can stay calm and respond in a supportive way in challenging situations;
- how to strengthen a child’s sense of security and mutual connection, even in difficult moments.

Raising with love and boundaries – how to set healthy boundaries and say “no” to your child
The session is led by Dr Sabīne Bērziņa, a Doctor of Psychology and expert at the Latvian Parents’ Organisation.
Boundaries give children a sense of security and help them build healthy relationships with the world around them. Loving, clear and consistent boundaries are not a punishment – they are the foundation of a child’s emotional development.
In the session, you will learn:
- why it is important to learn to say “no”;
- how to set boundaries without guilt, shouting or punishment;
- how to distinguish healthy boundaries from excessive control;
- how parents’ behaviour affects a child’s self-esteem and sense of security.
