Playing together, growing together: the importance of playtime in a child's development

Through play, children learn, discover the world, and form bonds with their parents.

In this class, you will learn:
  • how playtime affects a child's emotional and cognitive development;
  • how parents can use playtime to strengthen their bond with their child;
  • practical ideas for incorporating playtime into everyday life. 
The class is led by Sabīne Bērziņa, Doctor of Psychology and expert at the Parents' organization "Mammām un tētiem" ("For Moms and Dads").

In this class, you will learn:
  • how quality time together affects a child's emotional security;
  • how to find a balance between a child's needs and the parent's resources;
  • simple yet inspiring ideas for spending time together every day.

Bedtime rituals from infancy to school age

Bedtime routines ensure a better night's sleep for children and allow parents to enjoy more relaxed and predictable evenings. 

In this class, you will learn:
  • what bedtime routines to use at different ages;
  • how to make your child feel safe and help them relax before bedtime;
  • how to avoid the most common bedtime routine mistakes.

The class is led by Marta Celmiņa, a pediatrician and sleep specialist at the Epilepsy and Sleep Medicine Center.
