Food containers for everyday use

This is the IKEA 365+ series, which stands for everything that we believe defines good everyday products. Classic colours and designs that will never be out of style. Hard-wearing materials that stand up to tough everyday use. And many smart details that make it both fun and easy to prepare and serve food - every day of the year. Hope you agree.

What do flour and mincemeat sauce have in common? Nothing really - and that's why the food containers in the IKEA 365+ series are tailor-made for different everyday needs. Some are best for dry foods, others for fruit and vegetables and some you can take directly from the freezer and warm up in the microwave. The food containers also have a lot of practical features that you may not see at first sight - but they will become very clear to you every time you use them.

IKEA Life at Home Report 2020
IKEA Life at Home Report 2020

We believe that home is the most important place in the world. This is why every year IKEA conducts a global research called “Life at home”. The research aims to find out how people live at home and understand what makes their life at home better.

On a narrow path
On a narrow path

Think you have seen everything? Think again. After the challenge in this kitchen, even the smallest kitchens will seem like a definition of "spacious". Even though the overall area of 8 square meters may seem like a good enough start, this kitchen is super narrow, making it nearly impossible to move freely even for one person. Cooking together with somebody is an unattainable dream.

Spending more time at home also means more cleaning, cooking and eating in your very own kitchen. But how to set up one that is friendly for you and the whole family, too? Here are some tips and tricks from our interior designers.

One solution has to fit all: a makeover in a crisis centre
One solution has to fit all: a makeover in a crisis centre

The last episode of the season is special in more than one way. Not only is it linked to IKEA social responsibility project "Notice violence", it also presents a huge challenge for the IKEA interior designer Elīna. Her task is to freshen up a kitchen of a crisis centre and this means that the interior has to fit the many temporary inhabitants that come and go here. At the same time, it does not do to make it purely utilitarian, it has to feel like home. Elīna will show all her skill to make this happen.

Kitchen is the heart of most every home and it plays a huge role in the everyday life of a family. It is crucial to plan it in a way that it is functional for big and small and also aesthetically pleasing. "Home idea with IKEA" is visiting a mother of four planning a surprise makeover for her husband in their kitchen and IKEA Interior Designer Alla shares best tips & tricks in kitchen planning.

"Home idea with IKEA": a tiny kitchen for a kindergarden
"Home idea with IKEA": a tiny kitchen for a kindergarden

"Home idea with IKEA" works on makeovers in homes and businesses alike. The miniature kindergarden in Smārde, run by Anete and Elīna, is also a small business that has become a second home for both of them: they call the children of the kindergarden their second family. They have applied for a makeover in their, which is not comfortable and functional enough for the daily needs of the kindergarden. It would be easy to plan a kitchen in a large space, but this time everything has to be thought out centimetre by centimetre, because there are many needs but very little space.
