Designer thought Hannah Wilcox

“When designing patterns for this textile collection, I was inspired by the nature and animals in my Dublin neighbourhood. There was this playful tabby cat who would run around my legs and lots of birds flying around. These aren’t glamourous animals, but locals. I began painting and drawing patterns with these animals, using stripes and spots to make them simple, fun and organic. I hope they will make people’s home a little quirkier and more playful."

All the cotton in our products comes from more sustainable sources. This means that the cotton is either recycled, or grown with less water, less fertilisers and less pesticides, while increasing profit margins for the farmers. IKEA has banned the use of chlorine bleaching agents in the production of textiles and paper products due to the negative impact on the environment. We want to have a positive impact on the planet. That is why by 2030, we want all materials in our products to be recycled or renewable, and sourced in responsible ways.
